Glee closed its second season a surprisingly upbeat note. Sure, New Directions lost at Nationals, finishing outside the Top 10 in New York, but once returned to Ohio one terrific moment followed another until the final show choir meeting of the school year which had hugs and smiles all around just as the scene faded to black.
New York City
The trip to New York went as many would predict a Glee trip to the Big Apple would go with the kids singing and dancing in the streets, Kurt and Rachel having Breakfast at Tiffany’s and stealing the spotlight on the Wicked stage and plenty of snarky moments like the Hotel desk clerk who informed Will Schuester that most show choir coaches divided their teams up in two rooms by sexual orientation.
Rachel and Finn
The biggest moment in Finn and Rachel’s relationship decision did not involve Finn at all. Despite his gloriously romantic date at Sardis and walk around New York, the biggest moment in Finn and Rachel’s relationship may have happened between Rachel and Kurt. It was Kurt taking Rachel to the Broadway stage of Wicked where the two shared a glorious duet of that show’s closing number, “For Good,” where Rachel realized that no relationship was going to keep her away from Broadway.
